Time for a revamp of my small batch blondies recipe. Naturally I had to add brown butter.
This recipe is made in a loaf tin, so save us from ourselves and stop us eating a whole 16 blondies to ourselves. But no judgement here if that happens!
Brown Butter Small Batch Blondies
Blondies made in a loaf tin
Servings: 4 bars
Equipment
- 1 loaf tin
Ingredients
- 100 g unsalted butter
- 125 g light brown sugar
- 20 g dark brown sugar or sub in more light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ tbsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp flaky salt
- 100 g plain flour
- 100 g chopped chocolate whatever type you like
Instructions
- Begin by browning the butter. I have written a step by step guide here. Leave the brown butter to cool for 10 minutes.
- Line your loaf tin with greaseproof paper. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
- Whisk together the egg, sugars and vanilla for two minutes.
- Stir through the cooled brown butter including all the brown milk solids, as that's where the nutty taste is!
- Fold through the flour and salt until no flour remains.
- Finally mix in your chopped chocolate.
- Pour the mixture into your prepared loaf tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Try and leave the blondies cool for 30 minutes before tucking in!
Enjoy, R x
